Decorating on a Budget
Who doesn’t want to have a beautiful home and money in their pockets? I know I do, so here are some tips to make it happen. How to decorate your home on a budget!
#1 Search through Pinterest, IG, stroll through that cute boutique that you thought you could never afford or flip through magazines and really get a sense of what you like. Pay attention to the colors you are drawn to, the fabrics that speak to you and the finishes that spark your imagination.
#2 Start with one room that you would like to refresh, update or completely make over, but keep in mind a realistic budget.
#3 Check out our favorite stores such as, Homegoods, Target, Ikea, Marshalls, Amazon, Ross or any local shops you have and start picking up accessories, that have big impact, but a small price tag. It could be an amazing picture that incorporates the colors you would like to use or even a mirror that will bring light into a dim room.
#4 Don’t forget soft finishes such as pillows, curtains and throws. These items have a lot of punch for little money.
#5 Shop the clearance section and don’t count out buying as is and using little elbow grease to make it almost perfect. Also visit your local thrift stores they have tons of treasures if you just use your imagination and the prices are unbelievable.
#6 Look around your house and rearrange. This is completely free. Move the rug from the living room into the bedroom, hang a picture from the hallway in your powder room for more exposure, the outcome might surprise you and you have a whole new look for $0 budget.
#7 Decorate with plants! They add great warmth, appeal and life to stagnant rooms. Plants are inexpensive, but they add great value to your space.
#8 Chose a theme, but don’t go overboard. It needs to subtle and will help you pull your vision together. For example choose a color theme and use various shades of chosen color, in the picture they used various shades of gray to make major impact.
